Tameside is celebrating as two of its students have been named as finalists in the World Skills Front of House Competition. This means the students will now face seven other finalists, for the opportunity to represent England in Abu Dhabi in 2017.

It is clear to say that the UK is in for a significant overhaul, especially with regards to the career pathways available for young people. The government appears to be moving away from the stereotypical academic route and instead favouring the vocational through an apprenticeship.
